Freemason Inn was the only bed and breakfast featured in Budget Travel's "Of Time and Tides" article about Norfolk, VA in the July/August 2008 issue.

Selected as number 6 out of 50, the Freemason Inn Bed and Breakfast was the only establishment in the Hampton Roads area included in the "DREAM WEEKENDS 50 GREAT PLACES TO STAY" by the Washingtonian Magazine, April 2005 Edition. Click here to read an excerpt of the article.

A stay at the Freemason Inn Bed and Breakfast guarantees that you'll be treated like part of the family while enjoying a private suite, beautifully appointed to suit the era and fully equipped with a fireplace and a jetted Jacuzzi.

  • Breakfast is served in the dining room from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. each morning. For those special times, you may request to have your breakfast served to you in bed.

  • Afternoon tea, cheese and crackers, and a featured wine from our wine cellar are served daily to all our guests in the front parlor between
4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Tea and cookies are also available.

  • Bottled water and fresh fruit available 24 hours a day

  • Check-in is between 3:00 and 5:30 p.m.
We make convenient arrangements for later arrivals with a lock box. Just call or e-mail us to make arrangements, and we will gladly extend our hospitality to you. If you have not been to the Inn before and need directions, you are only a telephone call away from us. If necessary, we can lead you to the Inn in downtown Norfolk.

  • If you desire the outdoors, you may enjoy the exquisite beauty of our enchanting courtyard.

  • Bicycles are available should you wish to ride through the community and enjoy the historical cobblestone streets.

  • While located in its own quaint little spot, the Freemason Inn is surrounded by Norfolk, Virginia's history, entertainment, and culture. The MacArthur Memorial, The USS Wisconsin, Nauticus, and the Chrysler Museum are among some of the historical sites. Enjoy shopping at MacArthur Center, a mall with exclusive stores and many fine restaurants.

  • If culture is your desire, The Virginia Symphony, Virginia Opera, and Virginia Stage Company are only blocks away and offer the finest music and theater.

  • In the midst all of this, you can take a walk on the cobblestone streets or follow the Cannon Ball Trail along the water to the seven million dollar renovation of Waterside Festival Marketplace to reopen this summer, where you may enjoy free concerts. Sports lovers can also enjoy seasonal sports such as Hampton Roads Admirals AHL hockey or baseball at Harbor Park, the home of Norfolk Tides, triple-A team for the Baltimore Orioles.

  • The Freemason Inn Bed and Breakfast is just minutes away from Virginia Beach, if you would like to include a trip to the Atlantic Ocean or the Chesapeake Bay.

  • Enjoy a cruise on our waterways on the Spirit of Norfolk, a sail on the schooner, Rover (the Inn can provide discount tickets), or a short ferry ride to Portsmouth or Hampton, VA.
